Oulton Marsh and Pathways

Oulton Marsh Saturday evening, overcast.
Best bird was a well off BARN OWL with CHIFFCHAFF 2 and BLACKCAP 1. WILLOW WARBLER 1. With still only 1 GRASSHOPPER WARBLER and a single fly by AVOCET. The most interesting par of the evening however was the five REDSHANK that obviously had young near the river as they were flying in and out. However one flew close to the surface in the dyke, only to raise a pike a from the water and a snatch and grab move. Never ever seen that before.
Pathways: KINGFISHER and still a female TUFTED DUCK and several small MALLARD but nearly all gone. BLACKCAP 1 and GREENFINCH with young and a large family of LONG TAILED TITS.
Finished of my day being stung on the nose by a bee, painfull job.
