Pathways Care Farm

Regular call in with little to say. Rather the time of the year. Only four MALLARD and a single LITTLE GREBE.

Pathways Care Farm

How much more muddy is it going to get I ask myself. Rain rain and yet more rain. Soon be a hose pipe ban. But the sky was well alight with a pair of COMMON BUZZARD who had begun to sky dance. First for the year so plans for a future are on the cards. Also two pairs of LITTLE GREBE and a KINGFISHER flew through. But still no duck.

Links Hill:  Five MED GULL and 23 BHG plus one COMMON GULL.

Pathways Care Farm and Links Hill.

Pathways: Regular visit and no surprises but with clear skies good pic's of BUZZARD and LONG TAILED TIT. Good to find three GREENFINCH, but still no sign of GADWALL which is really odd.

Links Hill:  Four MED GULLS and 13 PURPLE SANDPIPERS on sea wall.

Links Hill,

Call in and to be greeted by the singing of a SONG THRUSH from the wild rose bush was a treat. It was accompanied by two GREENFINCH. Among the gulls were three MEDITERANIAN GULLS. One was nearly in full plumage with a black head. Also a flock of 15 TURNSTONE and on the groynes 10 PURPLE SANDPIPERS. But the bird of interest to me was a gull. To me it shew characteristics of being an argentatus. May well be wrong but what a gull. A big miserable thing.

Pathways Care Farm

Retrieved track camera from its tree, but no sign of any wildlife at all. Not a single thing in over 1,900 shots. No surprise their then. A single CORMORANT was swimming and catching a fish every 30 seconds. By the time he got out to dry he nearly sunk. As for the GADWALL I have no idea what is going on as there is no increase in numbers. Just one LITTLE GREBE. With a BUZZARD flying into the lake.

Drive round

First BUZZARD at the back of Kessingland and a move on to Hulver which brought in my first SONG THRUSH of the year, several BLACKBIRDS and another BUZZARD. Off to SOTTERLY and another BUZZARD and from there to the back of ELLOUGH with a pair of RED LEGGED PARTRIDGE. Again moved on to via Hulver towards Barnby and on the way a field with FIELDFARE about thirty birds.
