On 14th we took a ride out to Stokesby on the broads, just an opportunity to taste the lovely cakes from the local shop. While watching the boats a female MARSH HARRIER flew from Acle over the Bure River heading towards Thurne followed soon after by a COMMON BUZZARD. REED WARBLERS and REED BUNTINGS with the occasional REED BUNTING flitting through the reeds. Plenty of SWIFTS and Hirundo diving close to the water to feed. Also picked up with a lovely SPECKLED WOOD butterfly in the church yard at Runham. (See photo adjacent)
On Monday while travelling through to Loddon from Haddiscoe a single COMMON BUZZARD flew over the car. very good veiw.
