This small area of a wild gravel pit has been of recent years somewhere to call in as it is not regularly visited. On arrival a GREEN WOODPECKER was laughing away. Which was more than I am. A SONG THRUSH flew from ajacent garden on arrival. First migrant of the year was a fresh calling CHIFFCHAFF. a single male CHAFFINCH was calling and also WREN, BLACKBIRD, HOUSE SPARROW. PHEASANT, but the amount of gulls following the plough was over 500 birds.
