Pathways

Pathways on the12th Oct morning saw all the summer migrants gone. The first time this has happened for the year. But the switch to this is that incoming birds where well in. So the best bird was a close fly by which was seen by most of the workers as a GREAT WHITE EGERET flew through East to West. This is the second sighting for this species and a first for this year. Plenty of BLACKBIRDS and a scattering of REDWING. Two MEADOW PIPIT, PIED WAGTAIL and very active JAYS hiding acorns. Also a VOLE under a corrugated tin sheet.
Today at Links Hill: Several GREENFINCH in wild rose bush with a pair of STONECHAT, see below.
There where birds well out but visibility not good. A ROCK PIPIT was lone on rocks with two MEADOW PIPIT.
