Out before the rain.
Oval: First called in at the Oval and found gulls encircling the green. Four of these were MED GULLS of which one was ringed. One bird was very smart but as you can see he was rather bored with cricket. "Blimey what a mouth you've got". Just one CARRION CROW and two MAGPIE for company.
North Dene's: There was a good flock of SWIFT hunting along cliff and across the Denes's, I would think in excesses of 100 birds all very busy. ROBIN, WREN, 2 DUNOCK, 5 WHITETHROAT, 3 GREENFINCH, 3 HOUSE SPARROW and 7 TURNSTONE along wall.
This large Meadow Brown was rather ambient or is it just old age.
