Pathways

First time birding for weeks. Missed most of the action bt keeping safe. If you regularly take a look I am sorry for no updates. But here we are again.
It was just great to be back at Pathways and to see how things have moved on in 2 months. While not out I have joined in with Lockdown Lizards and really enjoyed them just for being there. Thanks guys. See you at the Stamford one day.
As for being on lockdown thank God for Jesus, but also my birding has come out at 37 species from the garden.
Pathways:
Best was the Kingfishers calling to there young which must have fledged very recently. Also an increase in the number of COMMON WHITETHROAT with at least four birds calling. Also good numbers of GREENFINCH with six birds in one flock. Altogether 27 species in an hour means not bad going.

Garden Birding in Lock-down

This is our Harry, who with his fancy woman has set up home again just across the way. He is going to have to learn the hard way I am afraid that things are not what they were and he may have to forage to get a full stomach. But he does look the part and it only took a week for his beak to go from black smudged to red.

Birding from Home.

Lock down and at risk, that's me. But with good weather and trimming up the garden brought in 22 species today. Best for me was the return of BLACK REDSTART two very short visits, but calling well. Also a very good bird was the low fly over of a pair of RED KITE. These birds flying south and at 60 feet put on a real show. It was also interesting to see my local BLUE TIT taking interest in the nesting box with both birds going in together. It was also the turn of MAGPIES as they fought over a nest site that they have never reared any young in over 17 years. All they do is build a nest and then dismantle it when given grief by CARRION CROWS.

Birding for the brave?

At my age they tell me I am at risk, so if for any reason my blog stops abruptly you will gather why. But don't be put down folks as life is for living and we will. Keep Looking Up.

Went for a ride out yesterday along Acle Srait, with a single BARN OWL,MARSH HARRIER, BUZZARD. Spent an hour on Horsey Levels with little about. But good numbers of SKYLARK.

Links Hill: Today with a flock of 22 LINNET and 13 TURNSTONE, but I still like CARRION CROW with three birds flitting about. One particular was having fun on the breeze with landing and taking of.

Kingfisher Pathways 2020

This pair are obviously interested in the future so lets hope it works out alright for them.

I had only walked a 100 yards when up popped a STONECHAT and even sat for a pic. I also had a single COMMON BUZZARD which showed on three occasions. But best bird was a GREENSHANK that was doing what they do before it took to the air and lost to sight. Plenty of LAPWING and duck with PINTAIL, WIGEON, MALLARD, TEAL, SHELLDUCK, GADWALL,  I also had a call of a WATER PIPIT but did not locate, Nine SKYLARK with some very high. A pair of KESTREL flew low over the ground and where very noisy. This is the second time I have seen this activity in the last two years. Another surprise was a pair of STOCK DOVE which flew overhead.
