Let the birds fly.

Time to say a last farewell to a great birder and someone I well respected. Steve Piotrowski,  A great send of by the birding fraternity of Suffolk and beyond. While others shared in the service I stood outside were there was something to lean on. With over 250 people there was no room and stifling. So I trust that Steve would be pleased with the following.

Birding at Ellough  over the time of the farewell.

SKYLARK   3,   GREENFINCH 1, BUZZARD 1, WOODPIGEON  32+ LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL  9, HERRING GULL 4, CARRION CROW 4, ROOK 2,

Now for a memory of days gone by. With our walk through Speyside.

Carlton Marsh SWT

Regular call in for voluntary stint. Obviously the staying RED FOOTED FALCON was of interest to any birder so on arrival it was viewable from the centre, with scope it was visible. Best record shot was from the track but the bird did not perform well and neither did the sun.

Altogether 27 species with BUZZARD, GWE, 7 LITTLE EGERET, KESTREL.
