Old coastguard station

Over the last few days an odd movement of gulls which seem to fly in from the sea around the time the tide changes from low. A few GANNET flying North but not many with one MED GULL on 22nd. As for my own gulls in the garden there first day begging for food since last summer. Also PERI turned up today flying around silo

Pathways

Monday visit for just over an hour, although valentine's day very little has changed. The GASWALL count was up a little to 133 but other than that very little about.

Ness Point: With no change in wind direction and nothing due for weeks this PIED WAGTAIL having a wash and brush up was a joy. Other than that a single RED THROATED DIVER flying North was it.

Lound Lakes.

Walk round with my mate took us an hour, but good to pick up on a TREECREEPER and two COAL TIT. Which works on year listing. No hurry a whole year to go. A single COMMON BUZZARD flew low over us but it was good to see so many ROBINS, 19 in all and 14 BLACKBIRD. Only one REDWING. But 19 species for the list.

Pathways

Regular call in saw four COMMON BUZZAEDS in the air at once flying over the lake and then dispersing East and West as pair. One bird in very pale round the vent rising either side of the base of the tail. Still 140 GADWALL on the lake but only one WIGEON.
