Ness Point and Oulton Broad.

Spent over 6 hours through the week at the Ness, with very little for me to shout about. OK I don't get out of bed as early as in the past. But all the same I am disappointed. Best was a LITTLE GULL flying close in heading North. Mind you I did manage a GREEN SANDPIPER on the rocks and again heading North. Also OYSTERCATCHER all South and on one day a fair selection of COMMON TERN and SANDWICH TERN doing all the same thing. A flock of 5 waders went by unidentified as did some duck. As for way off who can say what they where, but did manage an ID on 3 GANNET with over 87 KITTYWAKE on Monday and by Satuarday it was down to 7. PIED WAG at 4 and CORMORANT 8.

Oulton Broad: Never sure about gulls at time but this I think is a early HERRING GULL (Argentilieas) very pale job to say the least and very crippaled on left leg. Also a LITTLE GULL on far side of broad and EGYPTIAN GOOSE. Had a KINGFISHER on Thuresday here as well and today several LONG TAILED TIT,

Pathways

Spent an hour and half with much of the usual stuff. With MIGRANT HAWKER and COMMON HAWKER. A pair of COMMON BUZZARD flitting through the trees on far side of lake. A single JAY flew through and two GREENFINCH. The best however was a pair of BLACKCAP with young flitting about with them. It was also odd seeing adult and young CHIFFCHAFF working there way through the overgrowth. The GREY HERON was evident in call and in person.

Corton Old Sewage Works and Old Coast Guard Station.

Corton was bad for birding, in fact is it to late for the area. You just wonder. This was made up however by OCS, Lowestoft. With a LITTLE GULL floating North close in towards the Ness. Also three OYSTERCATCHER flying South and also 3 BAR TAILED GODWIT. Failed to identify a small wader flyin close in but did manage a MED GULL and 11 COMMON TERN and 12 SANDWICH TERN. 1 PIED WAGTAIL, 2 GOLDFINCH, and 86 KITTYWAKE

Pathways and Links Hill.

Pathways: Just over the hour saw 19 species with the best being the fact that the LITTLE GREBE numbers have reached there usual limit of six with two being fully fledged, Which is good for there population on site. Found a RUDDY DARTER flying on the far bank. It was also good to see HOUSE MARTIN and SWALLOW. It was also a pleasure to see the KINGFISHER. Already the corrugated iron sheet had mice in it, no surprise there. GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER and three BLACKCAP.

Links Hill: Just a quick call in when I saw a WHEATEAR sitting up well, however it was an absolute pain to get any focus on the thing so pic's are alot to be desired. One COMMON TERN on groyn. With CARRION CROW acting daft. Think they may have been getting stung with ants.

North Dene's and North Shore.

Morning walk, through the Dene's and back along North Wall. The Oval was being mowed for a match, which could be the first for the year due to corvid-19. The CARRION CROWS enjoyed the new mowed grass with 12 birds feeding well and a single LBBG. I also had two COMMON WHITETHROAT and the same for ROBIN. With only a single GREENFINCH. The best was a juvenile DUNLIN which was feeding with three TURNSTONE. Plenty of PIED WAG with about 20+ birds near caravans.

Links Hill: Call in at 7:40 pm and sitting with the BHG was a single LITTLE GULL. An adult bird already in winter plumage.
